Fourth birthdays are truck fun in The Woodlands, right?!? OK, maybe not my best play on words, but this little handsome sweetheart was just one of the very best! He had a a bit of an “okie” on his foot so we decided it was best that I carry him spot to spot. My heart gushed and that 5 day old ant bite was not a problem ever again. The sweetest…<3
When planning for this fourth birthday session, mom told me he is into anything transportation related. I instantly thought of a gorgeous forest that has some major work vehicles near the entrance. I knew i t would help hold his attention and set a remarkable stage, but not overpower anything with a gimmicky “theme”. For the most part, I keep props and locations pretty simple and clean. I want you, your child, your family to be the focus and shine. Signs, too many props and a busy scene can steal the show if it is too much.
I often share with clients that one of my favorite family images of Team Davis is in weeds next to a gas station. So much of portraiture is about the light, tones and textures of a spot more than anything else. Unless a landmark or specific look is needed, don’t get too caught up in the details as most softens and melts into color and tone in the final results. This session is a great example of how it set the stage, tied into his age, but let his little face and expressions take center stage.
